Beloved ‘Little House On The Prairie’ Star Passed Away At 91

Jack Lilley, a cherished actor and stuntman, died at 91, as confirmed by Little House on the Prairie co-star Melissa Gilbert in a heartfelt Instagram tribute. Known for roles in Blazing Saddles, Bonanza, Gunsmoke, and The Virginian, Lilley’s career spanned over seven decades. He served as Victor French’s photo double and played various parts on Little House, including stagecoach driver, while also coordinating stunts. Gilbert fondly recalled him teaching her to ride horses as a child and their 2002 reunion on the ABC pilot Then Came Jones, where he

greeted her as “Halfpint.” A skilled horseman born in 1933 in Santa Clarita, California, Lilley embodied the western spirit, participating in rodeos and community events. His family, including sons Clint and Cash, and granddaughter Savanah, mourned his peaceful passing on March 19, 2025, at the Motion Picture & Television Fund home. Lilley’s rugged charm, stunt prowess, and warm spirit leave a lasting legacy in Hollywood and beyond.
