Man becomes single dad to quadruplets after wife dies giving birth
Carlos and Erica Morales, a devoted couple from Phoenix, Arizona, met in 2006 and married in 2007 despite a language barrier. After a miscarriage, fertility treatments led to Erica’s pregnancy with quadruplets. On January 12, 2015, Erica was hospitalized for high blood pressure and delivered three girls and one boy via C-section.
Tragically, she passed away from hypovolemic shock shortly after. Carlos, devastated, named the babies Carlos Jr., Paisley, Tracey, and Erica in her honor. He brought them home, learned parenting skills, and received support from Erica’s mother, Sondra. Despite profound loss, Carlos’s resilience and community support helped him raise his quadruplets, turning a heartbreaking moment into a testament to love and perseverance.
