A Love Tested

My boyfriend proposed to me, and I was over the moon—I said yes.

The next day, he approached me and said, “Sorry, I think I’ve made a hasty decision. I’m not ready for marriage yet.” He also asked me to return the ring. I was floored.

Without a word, I gave the ring back, packed my things, and left.

The next day, I realized I had left something at his house, so I went back to retrieve it.

He didn’t expect to see me. When I opened the door, I saw him laughing and chatting with his ex. I quickly grabbed my stuff and stormed out.

He tried to explain, but I didn’t listen. I still love him, but I’m also deeply hurt.
