MIL Took Our Dirty Laundry Home While I Was Sick — I Couldn’t Believe What She Did with It, but Karma Took Care of It
I always knew my mother-in-law, Linda, didn’t like me, but I never imagined she’d go this far. When I was sick, she offered to do my laundry. I hesitated but agreed, unaware she had plans beyond washing my clothes.
Linda had always been critical—my cooking, parenting, even how I folded laundry. To keep the peace, I kept my distance, which only seemed to bother her more. When she unexpectedly showed up, acting unusually kind, I was suspicious. Then, she insisted on taking my laundry home, and before I could refuse, my husband, David, accepted.
Two days later, she texted David, furious. She had tried on my sick clothes, gotten ill, and now blamed me! Worse, she demanded I pay her medical bills. Shocked, I refused. David confronted her, making it clear this was her fault.
Days later, a package arrived—my clothes, ruined and all turned pink. I wasn’t even mad, just exhausted.
David laughed. “Lesson learned—if your mom offers to do laundry, say yes. If mine offers? Run.”
“Deal,” I said, chuckling.
