Actress Dead at 33 After Consuming Frog
Actress Marcela Alcázar Rodríguez, 33, died on Dec. 1 after ingesting kambo, a toxic secretion from the Amazonian giant monkey frog, during a spiritual retreat in Durango, Mexico. She fell ill but was allegedly denied permission to leave. A friend later took her to the Red Cross, where she died. Authorities are searching for the retreat’s shaman.
