‘In Tears’: Prince Harry’s Reaction to Brother Prince William Receiving New Title from King Charles Reported

Prince Harry is reportedly upset over losing his title as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps, now given to his brother, Prince William. The role, once a source of pride and connection to his military service, has added to the Duke of Sussex’s feelings of estrangement from the royal family.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams described Harry’s reaction as emotional, calling the decision “a kick in the teeth” for someone who already feels marginalized. Harry’s military career, spanning a decade with two tours in Afghanistan, was one of the rare times he felt valued outside his royal identity.

Meanwhile, King Charles III and Prince William have maintained busy schedules, with no private meetings held between Harry and his father during his recent U.K. visit. Public reaction to this strained family dynamic has been critical, with many expressing disappointment in the King’s inability to reconcile with his son.

Despite the tension, Harry continues to honor his military ties, most recently seen wearing his KCVO medal at the Invictus Games’ 10th Anniversary Service. Reflecting on the fractured relationships, Harry noted his late mother, Princess Diana, would have been saddened by the ongoing rift but hopeful for healing in the future.
