Decadent Old Fashioned Fudge Recipe

Ingredients:

Sugar 2 cups
Hershey’s cocoa 4 Tablespoons
Salted butter 1 stick
Carnation Evaporated Milk 5 ounce can
Vanilla 1 teaspoon
Nuts Optional

Line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper or grease lightly. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, whisk 2 cups sugar and 4 tbsp Hershey’s cocoa until blended. Add 1 stick salted butter (cut into pieces) and 5 oz Carnation Evaporated Milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it reaches a rolling boil. Boil 3-4 minutes, stirring, until it hits the soft ball stage (test by dropping a bit into cold water; it should form a soft, pliable ball). Remove from heat, stir in 1 tsp vanilla extract. Optionally, fold in chopped walnuts or pecans. Pour into the pan, smooth the top, and cool at room temperature for several hours, ideally overnight. Lift fudge out using parchment, cut into squares, and enjoy!
