My Mother Hated Me

for Looking Like

Growing up, I felt like an outsider in my family. My mother favored my sisters, Kira and Alexa, while treating me like a burden for resembling my biological father. I did chores with little affection, and as my parents’ arguments grew, my kind but distant father withdrew. At fourteen, a DNA test revealed my father wasn’t my biological dad and my mother had cheated, shattering our family. My father divorced her and left, and my mother’s resentment turned me into a servant at home.

After high school, I moved out, but my family kept demanding from me. I forced my mother to reveal my biological father’s name, found Rick, and learned he’d always wanted me in his life. He welcomed me into his family, gave me a house, and for the first time, I felt loved. When my evicted mother and Kira tried to move in, I stood firm and made them leave. I changed the locks, blocked their numbers, and cut them out. For the first time, I was free from their control.
