The full royal family line of succession is unveiled as Princess Beatrice’s new baby brings significant changes

The birth of baby Athena, Princess Beatrice’s second daughter, led to a shift in the line of succession to the British throne. The princess and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi welcomed their daughter on January 22. Little Athena was born a few weeks prematurely, weighting 4lb 5oz. Before the proud parents shared the first photo of their bundle of joy, the Palace shared the wonderful news.

Baby Athena will not receive a royal title from King Charles, as only the grandchildren of a male successor automatically inherit titles in the United Kingdom. Princess Beatrice received hers through her father, Prince Andrew. For the same reason, Harry’s children, Archie and Lili, became a prince and princess once their grandfather ascended the throne.
