I Refused to Let My MIL Meet My Baby
I started shivering when I found out that my MIL had let herself in with a spare key and was in the nursery holding my baby. My husband admitted, “I told her it was fine. I didn’t think you’d mind.” I was furious. “I said we needed privacy!” I snapped, taking my baby from her arms. My MIL smirked, “I’m his grandmother. I have rights.”
Feeling betrayed, I grabbed my keys and left the house in my pajamas. I drove to a nearby park, called my friend Sarah, and vented. She said, “You’re not wrong for needing space. They should respect that.” After calming down, I went home. My MIL was gone, and my husband apologized, promising to set better boundaries. I wasn’t ready to forgive yet, but it was a start.
