I Expect My In-Laws to Pay If They Want to Come for Lunch
The next Sunday, I stood my ground. As my in-laws arrived, I made it clear: “If you want to keep coming for lunch, you either help with chores or contribute financially.”
My husband protested, but I didn’t back down. Some in-laws agreed, surprising me, and for the first time, I wasn’t left cleaning alone. My MIL, however, refused to help and looked offended.
Later, my husband admitted, “You’re right. This isn’t fair to you.”
It wasn’t easy, but I finally set my boundaries. Whether my MIL likes it or not, I won’t be treated like a maid in my own home.
