Nurse Gives Woman the Wrong Baby, Then New Mother Turns Pale — Story of the Day

Lucy was shocked when the nurse brought her newborn twins after an examination. Instead of the boy and girl she’d delivered, the nurse handed her two baby girls.

Lucy and Ross had been overjoyed to learn they were expecting a boy and a girl, but now Lucy demanded answers. The nurse, Savannah, insisted there was no mistake, but her hesitation raised suspicions. Dr. Carter, the attending physician, stepped in to investigate and discovered Savannah had swapped Lucy’s son with another baby girl.

Confronted in private, Savannah tearfully confessed. The second girl was her niece, left orphaned after her sister’s tragic death during childbirth. Savannah, unable to adopt the baby herself, had hoped Lucy and Ross would unknowingly raise her niece in a loving home.

Lucy overheard everything and, though upset, felt compassion for the baby. After receiving her son, she couldn’t stop thinking about the orphaned child. The next day, she told Ross she wanted to adopt her. Initially reluctant, Ross changed his mind when he saw the baby and held her.

After completing the adoption process, Lucy and Ross brought the baby home, naming her Amelia. Their family now felt complete with their twins, Mark and Sia, and their new daughter, Amelia. Savannah, deeply grateful, became a close family friend, regularly visiting and spending time with the children.
