Am I Wrong for Kicking My MIL Out of My Home after She Came over to Do Me a Favor?

A woman shared on Reddit that she kicked her mother-in-law (MIL) out after she came to help with her colicky three-month-old while her trucker husband was away. Exhausted, the woman needed a nap, and her MIL offered to watch the baby and cook dinner. But she woke at 4 p.m. to her daughter screaming, finding her in an unchanged diaper, the baby monitor unplugged, and her phone missing. Her MIL was outside, talking on the phone for 37 minutes, claiming she didn’t hear the baby cry and unplugged the monitor to avoid waking the woman. Furious at the neglect, the woman made her MIL leave. Her husband later sided with his mother, saying she was helping and the woman overreacted. Reddit users supported the woman, criticizing the MIL’s negligence and the husband’s lack of support, noting the danger of leaving the baby unattended given her history of choking on vomit.
