The Shaking Bed: A Wedding Night Surprise
After a whirlwind wedding day, my husband and I were so exhausted that we barely managed to stumble into our hotel room. Without bothering to change out of our formalwear, we both collapsed onto the bed. I knew he was hoping for some romantic “wedding night magic,” but my body screamed for sleep. “Tomorrow,” I mumbled, half-asleep. He chuckled and kissed my forehead, then we drifted off.
Hours later, I woke up to the bed violently shaking beneath me. My first thought? “Earthquake!” My heart raced as I turned over, ready to grab my husband and make a dash for safety, but instead, I froze.
There he was—my brand-new husband—not diving for cover, but crouched at the foot of the bed… playing video games on his phone. Every swipe of his finger sent the bed trembling like it was possessed.
“Seriously?” I whispered, trying not to laugh.
He glanced at me, guilty as a kid caught stealing cookies. “I didn’t want to wake you,” he said sheepishly, holding up his phone. “But I was bored, and I just unlocked the final level…”
I stared at him, torn between laughing and throwing a pillow. “So…this is married life, huh?”
With a nervous grin, he put his phone down, climbed back into bed, and pulled me into his arms. “Get ready for a lifetime of surprises,” he said, and we both burst into laughter.
